A running club app, not another training log
Most running apps record the run you already did on your own. RunScene is built for the harder part: finding people to run with, and still being useful once you have found them.
What a running club app needs to do
Three things, and most apps do at most one.
Show you the clubs that actually exist near you, with the detail that decides whether you go: where they meet, which night, and what pace groups run. Tell you who is turning up this week, because a club listing with no attendance is a phone book. And keep working after you join, so the club has one shared picture of its running instead of a scattering of screenshots.
Find run clubs near you
Open the map and every club near you is on it, with its next session. Filter by day if Tuesdays are the only night you are reliably free, which is the thing that actually predicts whether you keep going.
Each club shows its meeting point, start time, typical distance and pace groups before you commit to anything.
See who is going before you turn up
The hardest part of a first club run is not the running. It is walking up to a group of strangers not knowing whether you are in the right place.
RSVP to a session and you can see the others who have. Turning up to a run where four people have already said they are coming is a different experience from turning up to an address and hoping.
Your runs sync themselves
Runs arrive from Apple Health or Health Connect, so whatever you record with — Apple Watch, Garmin, Strava, your phone — ends up in the app without retyping distances.
That matters for clubs, because club leaderboards only work if everyone's runs are actually in there.
Weekly leaderboards, with your club and your city
Distance totals reset every Monday, so a good week counts for something and a bad one is not permanent. Compete inside your club, against runners near you, or across your whole country.
Free, on both platforms
Finding clubs, RSVPing to sessions, run syncing and leaderboards are free on iOS and Android. There is a paid tier for training plans and deeper stats, but nothing about finding and joining a club sits behind it.
Common questions
Is RunScene free?
Yes. Finding run clubs, seeing who is going, syncing your runs and club leaderboards are all free on iOS and Android.
Do I need to already be in a club?
No. Most people arrive without one. The app exists to help you find the clubs near you and see what they are actually like before you go.
Does it replace Strava?
No, and it is not trying to. Strava is a training log. RunScene is about running with other people. Your runs sync in from Apple Health or Health Connect either way, so you can keep recording however you already do.
What if there is no club near me?
You can create one, and clubs can be listed free. RunScene also shows the local parkrun, which is the lowest-commitment way to run with other people.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhone and Android. Runs come from Apple Health on iOS and Health Connect on Android.
