RunScene ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and store your data when you use the RunScene app. RunScene was previously known as MyRunClub.
Information we collect
- Name, username and profile photo
- Email address (used for authentication only)
- Location data (used to show nearby run clubs and to record run routes)
- Workout data from Apple Health or Google Health Connect (running activities only)
- Posts, comments and interactions within the app
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account
- To show you nearby run clubs and events
- To display your runs and activity on your profile and feed
- To build personalised training plans from your running history
- To send notifications about reactions, comments, follows, club events and scheduled training sessions
Health and fitness data
With your permission, RunScene reads running workouts from Apple Health or Google Health Connect — distance, duration, pace, route, heart rate and calories.
This data is used only to display your runs, calculate your statistics and build your training plans. To provide these features across your devices, it is stored in our secure backend, hosted on Google Firebase, which processes it on our behalf.
We never sell your health data, never share it with third parties for their own purposes, and never use it for advertising or marketing. You can revoke access at any time in your device's Health settings, and ask us to delete your data at any time.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Google Cloud), which acts as our data processor.
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. This data is anonymised and used only to improve the app.
Age restrictions
RunScene is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Subscriptions
RunScene offers auto-renewable subscriptions (Runner Pro and Club Pro), available on monthly and annual terms. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is bought.
GDPR & UK users
If you are based in the UK or EU, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to processing, and data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contactmyrunclub@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Your rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at contactmyrunclub@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
Terms of Use
By using RunScene you agree to these terms.
Acceptable use — You agree not to post offensive, harmful or misleading content. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Training plans — Training plans and pace guidance are generated automatically from your recent activity and are for general fitness purposes only. They are not medical advice. Consult a doctor before starting any new training programme.
Disclaimer — The app is provided as-is. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the app.
Governing law — These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
